Introduction |
I don't often use a Macintosh, so most of this information comes from other sources.

- With Netscape's news reader included in Netscape communicator (4), you can save a binary picture with drag and droping the picture on the folder. - some others news readers for Mac: - Newswatcher, can extract binaries, and run with 1200ko - Nuntius, can extract binaries, too, but run with more memorie (3000ko) - Mac soup can't extract binaries - Picture snooper98 search newsgroups for only binaries files, it cost 25 us dollars, the trial ware is resticted to 15 startup, it runs with 6500ko To expand/compress files evrybody in the Mac's world use Stuffit expander, but for - zip files you need Zipit, (www.awa.com/softlock/zipit/zipit.html) - Unix tape archives, Tar - gzip files, Macgzip - rar, MacUnrar, (www.inforoute.cgs.fr/dufay) To see Mpeg videos you need - Sparkle (you can ftp Sparkle from sumex-aim.stanford.edu (or a mirror like mrcnext.cso.uiuc.edu) To see Avi , you can use - AVI to QT utility
